Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
These cookies can be served warm with a glass of milk or paired with ice cream for an indulgent dessert. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-5 days or refrigerate for about a week.
