Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt Use plain Greek yogurt for best results.
  • 1.5 cups self-rising flour You can make your own by combining all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt.
  • 1 large egg For egg wash.
Optional Toppings
  • sesame seeds Toast lightly for extra flavor.
  • everything bagel seasoning A blend of garlic, onion, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds.
  • poppy seeds Sprinkle generously for a classic taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt and self-rising flour until combined. Use a fork to avoid getting your hands messy. It will seem crumbly at first, but keep mixing until it forms a shaggy dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, adding a little extra flour if the dough feels sticky.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape them into bagels.
  5. Place bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush the tops with the whisked egg and sprinkle on your choice of toppings.
Cooking
  1. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Rotate your baking sheet halfway through baking for even results. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for three months.
