Ingredients
  

For the pizza pockets
  • 1 cup pizza dough You can buy refrigerated dough or make your own.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Freshly shredded cheese melts better.
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices Turkey or vegetarian pepperoni can be substitutes.
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce A classic marinara or a flavored sauce works well.
  • 1 large egg Beaten for egg wash to give crust a golden finish.
  • as needed tablespoon flour For dusting the surface.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut it into circles.
  3. Place a spoonful of pizza sauce on each circle, followed by mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
  4. Fold the dough over to create a pocket and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  5. Brush the top of each pocket with beaten egg.
  6. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container; they last up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
