  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the spice cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
  3. For an apple cake, fold in the chopped apples; for pumpkin cupcakes, add the pumpkin puree.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan or cupcake liners.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let it cool, then frost if desired.
  2. Serve with drizzles of icing, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container; it can last for about three days at room temperature. For reheating, use the microwave or the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes.
